Senior Practitioner

A Senior Practitioner or an experienced Senior Social Worker is required to work on the Duty and Assessment Team. Candidates need to have experience of working in a duty and assessment team. Will be undertaking complex Initial assessments and S.47 enquiries. To take the lead on assessments and S.47 enquiries. Must have sound knowledge and understanding of child protection procedures, able to give advice and support to less experienced workers. Have knowledge of joint working with the police and other lead agencies Health and Education, advise these agencies when necessary on CP processes and procedures. Be familiar with systems use for assessments and other data. Be able to use own initiative and make decisions when dealing with crisis to ensure that children are safeguarded. Good communication and recording skills are essential. Should be a confident professional who is able to take the lead.
